Our original PatentWear Museum Series Color Reels design printed on 8 oz. crewneck sweatshirts. Made of a 50/50 blend of cotton and polyester air-jet spun yarn with a softer feel that also reduces pilling, this classic-fit sweatshirt features double-needle stitched collar, shoulders, armholes, cuffs and waistband, and 1×1 athletic rib knit with spandex for collar, cuffs, and waistband.

The Story

It was in 1803 that George Snyder, a watchmaker, turned his watchmaking talents to the design of a new reel that would permit casting directly from the spool. It had been impossible to accomplish this task with the existing single-action reel. He built the first geared, quadruple-multiplying reel in 1810! The fact that few changes have been made in the basic concept over the past two-hundred years is proof that Snyder designed it well.

The final step in the evolution of bait-casting reels was the free spool model, which made it possible to cast light lures a respectable distance. The modern trolling reel, perfected to the max with its star drag and lever drag is a logical progression of these early bait-casting reels.

Here’s our tribute to those early inventors and creative pioneers, names such as Pflueger and Shakespeare (and scores of others) who forged this colorful history.

Here is a sweatshirt that will last for years. It is wonderfully comfortable and works great alone or as an outer layer for cooler environments. The quality material needs no ironing.

Crewneck Sweatshirt

If you’re unsure about sizing, the best way to determine a correct size is to grab an existing favorite t-shirt (or sweatshirt), lay it flat, and then measure it.
To find the chest size, measure from armpit to armpit. To get the length, measure from neck/shoulder corner intersection to bottom of hem (see illustration). Double the garment width to determine the chest circumference measurement, and you’ll find it will generally fit.
