The Story
Next time you are framing a wall, laying a hardwood floor, or putting the finishing touches on a new cabinet, take a moment to reflect on the tool you are using and its evolution. As with many tools, it was most likely created in the restless mind of a frustrated builder who had an idea for a “better mousetrap!”
The evolution of tool design in America is rich in history. Many thousands of patents have been granted: some revolutionary, some entertaining and others outrightly ridiculous. How many hammers, chisels, and squares have you owned? Perhaps it is failure—and not necessity—which is truly the mother of invention: we are constantly looking for that better, most ultimate tool.
Our Tools design is a tribute to those past inventors and their imaginations, always looking for ease of use in utilitarian improvements.
