A Special Word about PatentWear’s Privacy Policy
As of May 2018, the EU has implemented General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requirements in order to protect the privacy of all European customers. This mandatory compliance requirement for all who do online business with Europeans has caused many companies to re-vamp their policies and send out notifications, or face heavy fines.
This notice serves to let you know that PatentWear is NOT changing our Privacy Policy, because, since we began in 1995, we have never shared any of our customers’ information with anyone (except to fulfill your orders), nor will we do so in the future. No one except our vetted administrators can even view your account details—which do not include any passwords or credit card information.
Your privacy is important to us. Any money we make comes from selling our own custom designs on t-shirts and various other products, not your information. You can rest assured that when you create an account or order from PatentWear, your information is always safe and secure.
Thanks for your interest in PatentWear! Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
Your privacy and security are important to us. We never sell, share, or trade your information. We do not use your information for any purpose other than to contact you regarding orders you have made on our website or, if you have chosen, to update you with news on specials or new products via email at an address you have provided. You may opt out at any time. Please note that by using our site, you consent to our website privacy policy.
What Information Do We Collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, or subscribe to our newsletter. When ordering or registering on our site, you will be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number and payment (credit/debit card) information as appropriate. You may, however, always visit our site anonymously.
How Do We Protect your Information?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.
We have partnered with Stripe, a leading online payment gateway, to accept credit/debit card payments safely and with utmost security for our customers. The Stripe payment gateway manages the complex routing of sensitive customer information through electronic check and credit card processing networks. We use Stripe JS to accept payment information, which is securely transmitted directly to Stripe’s servers without it passing through our own servers, and to tokenize credit card numbers to make payments, keeping card data secure. All supplied sensitive credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into Stripe’s database to be accessible only by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and who are required to keep the information confidential.
Stripe adheres to strict industry standards for payment processing, including:
- 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for secure Internet Protocol (IP) transactions
- Industry-leading encryption hardware and software methods and security protocols in place
to protect customer information - Compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
